Nordic Green Model

About Project

What is Nordic Talks?

The "Nordic Talks" project is launched with the support of the Nordic Council of Ministers, in collaboration with Kitabistan and the embassies of four Nordic countries - Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden in Azerbaijan. Our goal is to present the strategies, as well as the development models and experiences of these countries through conferences and discussions as a solution to global problems.

Why the Nordic countries?

The Nordic countries are renowned for their high quality of life and robust social structures. They are also global leaders in sustainable development, environmental conservation, education, and gender equality. Therefore, we aim to convey the successful models and practices of these countries on social life and a clean and healthy environment to a wider audience in Azerbaijan.

Where did we start?

Today, one of the biggest problems in the world is climate change. Increasing carbon emissions, melting glaciers, rising sea levels and the frequent occurrence of extreme natural events threaten the future of our planet. This situation demands urgent and effective solutions.

Nordic countries hold a special position among those providing effective solutions to these issues. Therefore, we are launching Nordic Talks by introducing "The Nordic Green Model." Our objective is to showcase the green transition of the Nordic countries and their efforts to address climate change. The Nordic countries are pioneers in the use of renewable energy and in reducing carbon emissions. In this context, we aim to share best practices in areas such as green energy projects, waste management, environmentally friendly transportation, and nature conservation.

Who are we?

Kitabistan is a research center, and one of our core activities is to present models of the Nordic countries in Azerbaijan. We disseminate human values to the Azerbaijani public through research, interviews, conferences, and books. By researching successful development models and practices, we aim to raise awareness, educate youth, and foster positive societal development.

We express our gratitude to the embassies of Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden in Azerbaijan, as well as the Nordic Council of Ministers, for supporting us in carrying out the "Nordic Talks" project.
